Infrastructure Development Consultant | ZEV demonstration & commercialization projects
The Infrastructure Development Consultant position will be responsible for developing relationships and technical knowledge that support the deployment of hydrogen fueling stations, primarily in California but also elsewhere in North America. This position will lead projects that engage traditional fuel suppliers, fleet operators, hydrogen fuel suppliers, infrastructure implementers, and vehicle manufacturers, in projects that address infrastructure build-out challenges and include targeted ZEV stakeholder outreach.
This position is a highly visible role within the organization and requires knowledge of the retail fueling and automotive industries, enthusiasm, trustworthiness, and good judgement. The position will be based in Southern California, and requires frequent travel including overnight stays.
The Infrastructure Development Consultant works as part of the technical program team managing California Fuel Cell Partnership activities with respect to three general goals:
*Coordinate industry collaboration toward the installation of 100-200 hydrogen fueling stations in California
*Provide project support for CaFCP member organizations, particularly fuel cell vehicle OEMs and hydrogen station developers and operators
*Build understanding of commercial fueling business and opportunities for hydrogen
In addition, this position will work on other Frontier Energy transportation consulting projects. Primary responsibilities include:
*Build and maintain relationships with private companies (industry) who can help advance infrastructure for zero-emission cars, buses, and trucks
*Organize, facilitate, and lead alt-fuel transportation sector groups working to build consensus on technical and operational issues critical to infrastructure development for hydrogen and other ZEV fueling/charging systems
*Coordinate task forces developing consensus among industry stakeholders on market mechanisms that will accelerate the investment and development of hydrogen fueling and other ZEV infrastructure in California
*Serve as a liaison between industry and government stakeholders
*Lead report and publication writing
*Organize and facilitate CaFCP quarterly Working Group meetings and webinars on the status hydrogen refueling infrastructure network development in California and elsewhere in the nation
*Present at industry meetings and in online forum
*Represent Frontier Energy with fueling industry groups such as CIOMA, Fuels Institute, NACS, and WPMA
*Identify and participate in events and meetings to educate and inform audiences about ZEVs and ZEV infrastructure
*Initiate, pursue, and support business development opportunities for ZEV technology development
*Keep accurate and detailed records of contacts and events
Requirements - Skills and Qualifications
*Minimum of six years professional experience in building stakeholder relationships.
*Background with traditional or alternative fueling infrastructure. Experience with placing alternative fuel stations highly preferred.
*Able to manage time and budgets in a project-based accounting system.
*Ability to read and analyze information from dissimilar sources to identify relationships.
*Self-directed, requiring little supervision or detailed instruction to carry out assignments.
*Comfortable with public speaking and personal interaction.
*Flexible, team player who can build relationships with people from diverse sectors, backgrounds, and cultures.
*Articulate and motivated writer.
*Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited university.
*Professional appearance and demeanor, ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
*Clean DMV record.
